Maryville CollegeMaryville College is a private, four year institution renowned for its liberal arts education. Founded in 1819 by Rev. Isaac Anderson, the school has long been dedicated to training young people to be responsible citizens and leaders. Its acclaimed first year program has been designed to acclimate students to college life, and the long-standing tradition of senior theses teaches students to work independently. In partnership with the cities of Maryville and Alcoa, the school is constructing a civic arts facility called the Clayton Center for the Arts. Carson-Newman CollegeCarson-Newman College, in Jefferson City, is another liberal arts college and offers both undergraduate and graduate programs. It is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Association and offers graduate training in ministry. Undergraduate enrollment is about 2100 students.
Pellissippi State Technical Community CollegePellissippi State, located in West Knox County, has 7000 students and a diverse offering of subject matter.
